Laura Mannering
I'm a sea loving gal who grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada, affectionally known as Canada’s Ocean Playground. I’ve always been a creator and happiest when I’m setting my imagination free through writing, illustration, and an assortment of crafts and creative arts.
Presently, I call the big city of Hong Kong home. Between my job as an early years teacher and life in a land of skyscrapers I am always inspired by the variety of characters that I find myself amongst.
Luckily, I found a brilliant group of writers and illustrators in the Hong Kong chapter of SCBWI. Since joining I have initiated an illustrator’s critique group and taken on the Coordinator’s role, and I’m a regular participant in a writer’s critique.
I’ve been learning all about the business of writing and illustrating over the past few years, participating in Storystorm, 12x12, SCBWI Summer Conference 2018, and taking courses by, The Illustration Department, and The Children’s Book Academy.
These days the world is my playground and I can’t wait to share my stories with you!
